Now WITH MORE TO OFFER THAN EVER BEFORE, FROM RIGHT HERE IN VINCENNES, BY MEMBERS OF THE SAME KRAMAC FAMILY...WE ARE AT YOUR SERVICE!
An important facet of the Kramac business, is the printing of CD inserts. While the Kramac business is experiencing restructuring, one aspect will not change. Kramac will continue to provide the same excellent service
Kramac prints for a number of CD relicators, including two of the world's largest. names you'd recognize instantly. The millions of CD inserts we've turned out would make a pretty high stack! But what's really impressive is that our inserts actually fit their jewel cases.
Pressing Forward
Going out to meet a surging market in 1990, Kramac began printing inserts for CD jewel cases. The company quickly developed exceptional skill at crafting booklets and backliners to the exacting measurements of the CD case, and Kramac is now rated as a preferred printer by two of the world's largest CD replicators.
To keep that edge, Kramac stays in touch with the latest technology. In fact, one purchase was featured in a Heidelberg ad appearing in a recent issue of Printing News Midwest. As the owners say in praise of their Speedmaster 74s, "When you're printing CD packaging, you need presses with a positive spin." The Kramers have since added a Heidelberg Quickmaster DI (digital imaging) offset press.
Printing Rainbows
Long before CDs, Kramac got its start by venturing into new printing territory. Before the company opened for business in 1959 in Vincennes, Indiana, only black-and-white letterpress had been available locally, but Gilbert Kramer changed that. He introduced offset to his customers and showed them how their printed materials could burst forth in a rainbow of colors.
Gil was a Vincennes native who had gone to Washington, D.C., and earned some impressive credentials in printing. He had worked for both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Geographic Society. After that, he was ready to come home and start his own printing company.
Offering Proof of Success
Gil's son Brian, an Indiana University graduate, joined the company in 1977. His other son, Kenny, graduated from Indiana State University with a graphic arts management degree, and brought that expertise into the business in 1982. Two years later, with Kramac Printing marking its 25th anniversary, Gil turned operations over to Brian and Kenny.
